Denton County Divorce Mediation Attorneys

Texas Alternative Dispute Resolution

Mediation is a well-accepted method for resolving divorces. For most cases, especially those involving child custody, support, visitation and parenting plans, Texas courts will order couples to attempt mediation before bringing a contested case to court.

Gregory Family Law offers divorce mediation services both to clients and fellow lawyers. The firm is devoted to accomplishing divorces successfully for their clients and their clients' children. Mediation usually results in less expensive and less contentious divorce proceedings than does litigation.

Because of their skills and success in mediation, judges often appoint Mike Gregory and Alyson Gregory Richter as mediators while attorneys eagerly agree to use them as mediators.

What Is Divorce Mediation?

Mediation is an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) method that involves going in front of a lawyer mediator and working through the many aspects of a divorce agreement without going to court. As in collaborative law proceedings, each side is represented by an attorney. Anything said to the mediator is kept strictly confidential; a mediator cannot testify for either side if the mediation fails.

Gregory Family Law's lawyers are specially experienced in family law mediation. The firm's divorce mediation services includes both representing individual clients and serving as mediators. Owning a strong reputation after nearly 40 years of experience in family law, attorney Mike Gregory is highly sought after by other lawyers for his work as a mediator. He is a credentialed mediator by the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association.
