Denton Attorneys Enforce Divorce Orders

Texas Enforcement of Divorce Orders

The attorneys of Gregory Family Law in Denton have a client-centered family law practice. They take failure to comply with divorce orders very seriously and work aggressively to help Texans enforce divorce decrees.

Most violations of divorce orders involve child support, custody, and visitation, including failure to pay child support or hindering possession and access. But violations can include any aspect of a divorce agreement, from property division to spousal maintenance.

Punishments for Violations of Divorce Orders

In Texas, failing to pay child support can result in up to a $500 fine and/or 180 days in jail, as well as the payment of attorney's fees and costs. Other remedial punishments can be incurred depending on the situation; for example, if one parent deprived the other parent of visitation time, the court may order make-up visitation time and order the person violating the order to pay attorney's fees and costs.

Gregory Family Law's lawyers and staff do all their family law work with a focus of making the lives of their clients and their clients' children better. While they usually try to find amicable solutions to problems, their lawyers can also draw on decades of hard-fought litigation experience to aggressively enforce divorce orders.
